2. James Cracknell injured in bike crash after “altercation” with London minicab driver
Former Olympic champion rower James Cracknell, who earlier this year was back on the water to help Cambridge beat Oxford in the Boat Race, was injured in a bike crash following what he described as an “altercation” with a minicab driver while cycling in London this week.

3. Road rage driver who chased cyclist and then rammed him spared jail
A Renfrew motorist who left a cyclist with a broken pelvis after chasing him down and deliberately ramming him has been spared jail. The Gazette reported that at around 1pm on February 17 last year Mark Grabham was riding along Cambell Street, Renfrew, on his way home, when he became embroiled in a road rage argument with 55-year-old James Carroll.

9. Bristol teens arrested following spate of bike thefts
Three teenage boys from Bristol have been arrested following a spate of bike thefts and burglaries in the city and surrounding areas. Avon & Somerset Police said that a 15 year old and 17 year old, both from St George, and a 17 year old from Staple Hill, had been arrested on suspicion of seven counts of burglary and one count of theft.

10. Nespresso teams up with Sweden's Vélosophy for bike made from recycled coffee capsules
Nescafé-owned Nespresso has teamed up with Swedish bike brand Vélosophy to produce a bicycle made from recycled aluminium coffee capsules. Called RE:CYCLE, it is being sold in a limited edition of 1,000 bikes, and comes in bright purple to reflect the colour of the capsules of Nespresso’s popular Arpeggio blend.

Indeed - but it's no more inconsistent than our current road design - very often UK high streets are "for shopping" and also a busy through route....
