1. Cyclist filmed in fast lane of M62 - while towing child trailer

A cyclist was filmed riding across three lanes of the M62 motorway in Liverpool – while towing a trailer of the kind typically used to carry small children. The footage was passed to the Liverpool Echo by the lorry driver who recorded the incident with the dashcam in his cab.

2. Taxi driver who lied about hit-and-run crash with cyclist gets stripped of licence after victim sends council headcam footage

A Leicestershire taxi driver who was on the wrong side of the road when he hit a cyclist in a hit and run crash then lied about what had happened has lost his licence to operate as a result of video evidence captured by the victim on his headcam.

3. The NRG Stem has a built-in power bank for charging devices on the go, and it's now crowdfunding on Kickstarter

Fledgling component brand NRG has designed a stem with a built in power bank, that can charge your devices with a universal USB port. It's now crowdfunding on Kickstarter, with a £190,000 target to bring it into full production.

4. London’s lethal Holborn gyratory to get £12.6 million makeover for safer cycling as TfL unveils 11 new projects across the capital

One ​of London’s most dangerous junctions for cyclists is to get a £12.6 million makeover to make it safer for vulnerable road users, as one of a number of locations throughout the capital that will share £53 million in funding announced today under the Liveable Neighbourhoods programme.

7. People would be "calling her a man" – Transgender cycling champ in online row with Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies

A Canadian cyclist who made headlines around the world last year after becoming the first transgender athlete to win a world title in any sport has hit back at comments made about her by Sharron Davies – by posting a picture to Twitter of the former Olympic swimmer and saying that saying that nowadays, people would be “calling her a man.”

8. Porn Pedallers Cycling Club lose British Cycling affiliation - because name falls foul of UCI regulations

A cycling club made up of people in the adult entertainment industry has been told by British Cycling that it cannot be affiliated with the governing body because its name – Porn Pedallers Cycling Club – breaches UCI rules.

After the initial outcry, British Cycling says it is looking to help Porn Pedallers Cycling Club meet UCI rules, acknowledging the “excellent work” it does in charity fundraising.

10. Not 'Super' anymore – Cycleways confirmed as new name for London's Cycle Superhighways and Quietways

The Cycle Superhighway and Quietway names have been dropped for cycling infrastructure in London, with routes instead being unified under a single brand, Cycleways, it has been confirmed to road.cc.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
