Endura Pinstripe Short Sleeve Jersey

Endura's Pinstripe Short Sleeve Jersey is part of its Limited Edition range, where it releases a range of clothing in various colours and patterns to create an outfit (you can read my review of the Pinstripe bib shorts here). The Pinstripe is pretty striking and bold in its looks and it isn't just skin deep: performance is impressive and so is the fit.

Compared with a lot of the jerseys we see here designed for riding in the very hot temperatures, the Endura isn't that thin or lightweight but the fabrics actually do a very good job of keeping you cool and dry.

The fabric sits close to your body or baselayer and seems to do a very good job of absorbing the sweat and passing it quickly out through to the atmosphere without any delay. I was quite surprised by how quickly I felt dry and refreshed after cresting the top of a tough climb in the high summer temperatures.

The cut is nicely done. The front panels arch up towards the zip which actually makes the Pinstripe jersey look and feel a little short in the body when you are off the bike, but it all makes sense once in the saddle as there is no bunching of the fabric around your stomach or chest.

The rear has the complete opposite with a lengthy dropped tail to keep you covered when even crouched right over in the drops. It's held in place by an elasticated gripper and there is no issue with it riding up.

At the sides you get separate panels which feel a little lighter and more stretchy to keep the cut close, although the jersey never feels restrictive even if you are a 'more normal sized' rider.

The sleeves use the same material, which offers such a close fit over your biceps that Endura has been able to do without any form of gripper here.

At the rear you get three deep and taut pockets which allow you to carry plenty of kit. There is no zipped valuables one, which is a bit of a shame, but you do get a mesh gel pocket on the right hand side, ideal for easy access when riding in the group.

Endura uses a YKK zip and it runs very smoothly, with a large tab for ease of use. The only thing I would like to see is a zip garage at the neck to stop the slight irritation there.

Priced at £69.99, the Endura Pinstripe represents pretty good value for money. A similarly equipped Chapeau! Club jersey is just 99p cheaper, while Primal's Theta Helix Jersey will set you back £80.

Bearing in mind that these Endura short sleeve jerseys are limited edition prints and handmade in Europe, I'd say the cost is quite a true reflection of what you are getting.

On the whole it's a very good jersey that does the job while still keeping things pretty simple. One thing I will say, though, is that as it's white you'll be doing a lot of washing...
