Red/White Brompton Demo bike stolen from W2 Queensway
My Brompton was stolen yesterday, 09.01.2018 between 17:20 and 17:50 while I was buying dinner. It was right outside Sainsbury's local, two meters away from the shop entrance where a CCTV and a security guard had a clear view on the bike. The thieves, apparently a group of youngsters, managed to cut the cable lock and ran away before anyone intervened. I had assumed that a cable lock would be enough if I'm only gone for a few minutes, but apparently that was stupid, and I have learnt an expensive lesson.
The police has decided to close the case, as far as I understand without asking for the CCTV footage from Sainsbury's (which the store has, but will only give to police), or speaking to their security guard. This is the second bike I am losing within a year, and I am probably giving up on owning a nice bike. Hooray, Boris bikes.

The bike is a 6-speed model with mudguards and rack, SON hub dynamo, red main frame with white parts, and has the words "Demo Bike" instead of the Brompton logo on one side.

Been available for quite a while, full GRX mechanical 12 speed. Probably around the same time as 105 mechanical 12 speed if I were to guess.

Less harmful citrus degreaser is easy to find at £8 or less for 5 litres. Works ok for me, even diluted up to 4:1. Both paraffin and white spirit...
