London Bike Show returns for 2016

Organisers say 300 brands and 50 speakers lined up for February show

The London Bike Show is back at ExCel London in February, with - they say - more than 300 confirmed brands attending.

Running from Thursday 11-Sunday 14 February, there will be the usual bikes, kit, nosh and gadgets, along with a Cycling Performance Theatre where 50 speakers will make appearances. In previous years Sir Chris Hoy, Greg LeMond and Steve Peat have spoken at the show.

Visitors can try out bikes on a dedicated test track, with a separate kids’ test track, or book a 1-1 fitness and technique analysis session with the Surrey Human Performance Training Hub. The Street Velodrome also returns, making claims as the world’s only pop-up velodrome.

New this year is an international freestyle mountain bike competition, Air to the Throne, where 30 riders, including Sam Pilgrim, Daryl Brown and Matt Jones, will battle for a 10,000 Euro prize.

Tickets cost £15 for Thursday or Friday, or £18 for Saturday or Sunday. Concessions are also available.
