Lee Valley Velopark to reopen to the public in March

East London Olympic venue will reopen with the final of the Revolution track series on March 14 and 15

Lee Valley VeloPark, which played host to the London 2012 Velodrome and Olympic BMX track, will open to the public on 4 March 2014.

Visitors will be able to enjoy sessions from £2 for club riders and £4 for individuals, with programmes from learn-to-ride programmes for children who have never been on a bike before, coaching, major championships bringing the world’s best riders back to the venue, all ability sessions for people with additional needs, and sessions for schools, clubs and leagues.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the VeloPark’s 9km mountain bike trail, the Olympic BMX track and the 1.6km floodlit road circuit as well as the velodrome itself.

For the grand opening, the Velodrome will welcome back some of the stars of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games on 14 and 15 March for final of the Revolution track cycling series.

Olympic track champions Laura Trott, Jason Kenny and Ed Clancy will all race along with current National Road Race champion and Olympic silver medalist Lizzie Armitstead.

Shortly afterwards, the popular Bespoked handmade bicycle will head there, its new home for 2014 being the Velopark, moving from Bristol to Lee Valley. The dates for your diary are 11-13th April 2014, as we reported recently.

The Cavendish Group will provide cycling experiences at theVeloPark from April, creating corporate track cycling days as part of its remit.

Cavendish will host a number of cycling experiences, which will include either exclusive half or day-long use of the track for larger numbers, as well as one or two-hour exclusive sessions on the track for smaller groups of between ten and 16 people.
