rh+ Revo Jacket

The RH+ Revo jacket is a high-quality, slim-fitting jacket that'll keep you warm in the cold weather.

It's made from brush-backed polyester fabrics and it's windproof throughout so you get plenty of insulation. The collar is tall and close fitting so it stops the cold air from getting in, and the full-length zip has a flap behind it for more draught exclusion. That flap extends over the top to avoid any scratching of your neck.

If you do find yourself overheating when the terrain gets tough you can open that front zip, and the zips on either side of the chest are vents rather than pockets, providing a useful amount of cooling.

The Revo is cut close to the body, which I really like. RH+ call it a 'slim fit' and they actually have a 'form fit' which is closer still, but get the right size and you'll have very little excess fabric here – certainly not enough to flap and let in unwanted cold air. I got on really well with the shape, finding very little bunching at the front when leaning forward to the bars (although, being tall, I should have gone with a larger size for more lower back coverage).

The arms are anatomically shaped, again minimising bunching when you're on the bike, and all the panels are stretchy across their width, especially the black panels with raised dots on the surface, so that the body-hugging fit feels comfortable.

A 5cm-wide elastic microfibre band draws the bottom hem in while the sleeves are double cuffed – there's an internal elasticated cuff to keep the outside world outside, and it works well. On top of the usual three pockets in the lower back you get an extra zipped one that's big enough to take your phone and/or wallet.

There's quite a bit of reflective print back there too. There's more reflective print on the left arm although, if we're being picky, it would be better positioned on the right arm for left-hand side of the road countries.

You'll get a lot of use out of this jacket when the temperature dips below about 10°C. I've been wearing just a base layer underneath when it's in the higher single figures, and putting a second layer on underneath when it's closer to freezing (some people won't need that second layer).

The Revo has worked really well in both scenarios, providing plenty of warmth, breathability and comfort. It's a top quality cold-weather jacket.
