Mercx, Hinault, Anquetil. Les Anglos Saxons are being written out of TdF history. ASO turns the clock back to the time when riders could "charge up" safe in the knowledge that no one cared.
It's like a J.J Abrahms sci-fi film but I like it.
I'm not sure that it is the Pic Du Midi observation tower. It looks very different to the one in the video, though I accept the view point maybe different.
What I want to know was when did that crash happen and who was it that crashed? It looked pretty spectacular.
Mountain Lair.png
Good spot, not the Pic du Midi but the Aiguille du Midi over by Mont Blanc in the Alps.
Crash on the descent? Stage 14 of 2006 race, Saunier Duval rider is David Canada, also involved Mathias Kessler of T-Mobile and Rik Verbrugghe of Cofidis (who is already over barrier on right I think).
Don't look at this pic if you're having lunch

Loved the clip; but too short!
any links to the giro one that aren't youtube - blocked from work pc!!
F*ck me, the Giro is brilliant.
I like this one and the Giro but if I had to choose the TdF one gets the nod from me!
"...fighting spirit..."
cue shot of andy schleck hahahahahah
The Giro Promo is much better, ASO copy cats
thats a copy and a bad version of the Giro d'italia promo
This is how to do it:

That's where the money's at nowadays seanieh66. Man Utd do the same thing.
I see that they are looking to appeal to the Chinese/Asian male market at about 0.36 into the clip
Does anybody know where the mountain-top lair is at 1:50? It looks like somewhere a Bond villain would operate from...
Pic du Midi, observatory-cum-tourist destination.
Sits above the Tourmalet. Can be seen for miles.

Those hairpins are on the grand colombier me thinks on last years stage to Bellegarde .... A great shot... An amazing climb..
Been driving me mad... I knew it was on last year's race, and on one of the Alps stages, just couldn't pin it down exactly. Remember thinking it was a breathtaking shot at the time.
Yep, we were up there, pretty steep on way up, trying to remember who won stage??. Was it mr short shorts tommy V?? Sure it was somebody from europcar ...
Yes, that's the place. ITV4 managed to miss those shots during an advert break. The same climb was featured in the Dauphiné.
When was Lance stripped of his titles? I must have missed that.
Are we not back to the 93rd tour now? Also - 1:37, the hairpins. Where is that? It's a cracking shot.
I was wondering the exact same thing!
Great analogy MercuryOne, very amusing
Funny how all those clips of Armstrong have gone - never to be seen again. It's like remembering Gary Glitter on the radio...
The only less popular cyclist is a chap by the name of Jimmy Saville.
Does that mean I've missed 99 other TdFs this year?
