Can't seem to find these cheap as has been mentioned?
Have to agree with matthewn5. Mavics are great but everything on them is proprietary, anything breaks and they'll either be unfixable, cost a fortune to fix or be a right pain in the 'arris to get fixed.
Wiggle are selling DT Swiss RR21 wheelsets for around £400, amazing climbing wheels with top quality hubs. They get highly rated by the usual websites:

I got a pair not so long ago from Wiggle's Ebay shop for around £300, popped on some GP 4000's and latex inner tubes and they're amazing.
+1 to this.
I have the RR21's & I think they're outstanding value for money.
£500+post and you can have my very lightly used sub 1200g Easton EC90 carbon tubs with brand new continental tubulars including a Pro ltd ;o)
Speak to David at DCR wheels - he'll advise and build you a set of superb wheels.
Campy zonda's.
Can't go wrong.
I suggest buying some parts on your own and find a local wheelbuilder:
-Hope Mono RS hubs 170£
-Mavic Open Pro UST rims 90£ (Wiggle) or Kinlin equivalent
- Wheelbuilder labour + Sapim spokes + brass nipples 150£
Contact stayer cycles - I've got some awesome cc's from there that look and ride amazingly well - cheap too; worth a phonecall!
Go for the Hunts, they're well made and use standard spokes so you can rebuild them if you ever wear out a rim. The Mavics will be in the recycling bin once the rims wear out.
£369 for the Hunts seems a good price.
Vision Team 35s are currently £240 at Merlin (favourable review at http://road.cc/192701).
Don't get too hung up on weight, it's not anywhere near as big a factor as many people like to think. Also, not everyone likes the braking on carbon rims.
These are bit beyond your budget but look very good:

Front wheel only, 56mm possibly a bit OTT for you, leaves some money to find a decent rear wheel though:

I'm sure I've seen a set of carbon-fared alloy rims that looked very aero at a very reasonable price, but I can't recall much about them, parcours grimpeur or something. It might be worth search this site for wheels.
I've been using a pair of Prime RP-50s and can recommend them.
Wiggle Prime RR-50 or RR-38 ? I'd choose 38 front and 50 rear, should work for all riding.
FLO30 ?
