Scott issues voluntary recall for Vanish Evo helmet

If you’ve got a Scott Vanish Evo helmet, you might want to stop using now, the Swiss company has just issued a voluntary recall for its top-end race helmet. Scott offering a full refund for the price paid for the helmet.

“In cooperation with national Recall Authorities, Scott is voluntarily recalling all CE and CPSC homologated Vanish Evo bicycle helmets of model year 2015,” says the statement, released earlier today.

Scott says the recall has been issued because the helmet does not “comply with the impact requirements of the CPSC safety standards for bicycle helmets,” and that “the helmets also fail impact testing required under the CE1078: 2012 Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets.”

How do you know if your helmet is affected by this recall? Scott urges customers to visit this webpage and enter the serial number, found on a small sticker located inside the helmet. If your number comes up, Scott says consumers should stop using the helmet immediately and return it to an official Scott dealer, where a full refund will be paid.
