Rohan Dennis Hour attempt on Sunday at 1pm - Watch it live here

Australian rider aims to set record in same Swiss velodrome where Jens Voigt did it

Rohan Dennis will tomorrow become the latest rider to try and break the UCI Hour record – and you can watch a live stream of his attempt right here on road.cc.

Last weekend, his compatriot Jack Bobridge became the third rider to attempt the record since the UCI’s rule change last year, but unlike Jens Voigt in September and current holder Mattias Brändle, he failed to break it.

Dennis, aged 24, is targeting the Hour at the Velodrome Suisse in Grenchen, the same track where Voigt ended his career last year with his record-breaking ride, and will be trying to go further than the distance of 51.852km set by Brändle.

The BMC Racing rider takes to the track on the back of a very strong display at last month’s Tour Down Under, where he won a stage and the overall.

Bobridge, too, was in good form there, winning a stage and the mountains jersey, but may have suffered by having less than a week to recover before attempting the Hour.

Looking ahead to his attempt, Dennis said: “When I look at my experience on the track and the numbers I have been doing on the track and road, it’s within reach.  I’ve been training towards this since [the] Worlds.

"There’s a number in my head: 52.5km.  I’d be happy with that but I’m trying to push towards 53km."

He sets off on the 60-minute ride that could end with his name in the record books at 1pm tomorrow. Here’s the live stream.
