Peter Sagan's new Sportful Bomber 111 Suit - First Ride Video

Ridden to Paris-Roubaix victory last year, and now available to buy, we take a first look

Last year Peter Sagan rode to Paris-Roubaix victory wearing a prototype aero one-piece suit developed by Italian brand Sportful, and a year later it's now available to buy. We managed to get our hands on this state-of-the-art aerodynamic outfit and headed out into the sunny lanes around Bath to see what it's all about.

Developed by and for riders like Peter Sagan, the new Bomber 111 Suit is a halo product in Sportful's BodyFit range, which offers mere mortals the opportunity to buy the same clothing as used by the pros but without all the sponsor logos, so you get the same technology, fabrics, fit and performance.

The new Bomber 111 Suit, named in reference to Sagan's starting number at last year's Paris-Roubaix and also a nod to his three consecutive world championships, is a one-piece outfit to minimise seams to reduce drag, and the few seams there are have been carefully placed to avoid upsetting the air flow. There are long mesh sleeves, seamless leg bands and three pockets joined by two see-through sleeves for race numbers, avoiding the need for pins.

All this development does mean a high price tag,  it costs £280. More info at www.sportful.com

He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well.
