Sometimes the live blog is a little slow to load... give it a few seconds to warm up, failing that give the page a refresh.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.

So desperately sad about the ex-navy diver. In those extremely difficult situations you simply can't make a single error in judgement or take chances even if what you're doing is trying to save a life, it's one of the most dangerous things on the planet to do. He didn't have to be there, he didn't have to risk his life but he did, he stood up to be counted putting his very life on the line to save others and should be posthumously given an award for his selfless sacrifice.

the thing that makes me puke, when you hear soccer pundits (yes that's you shearer you plumb!) calling the football players 'hero's', get to fuck, no, they're been paid a shit ton of money to play sport, they are most definitely not hero's ffs!

Urgh 1km @ 29%!

I’ve loved every climb I’ve ever done apart from Rosedale Chimney and that’s nothing compared to this! I was convinced my chain was going to snap on the 33% section.

Looks like young Ruby could do with some factor 50, and/or a glass of cold water - she's looking rather red in the face. surprise

Is JOGLE really the boy's surname, or is it just the acronym for John-o-Groat's/Land's End (even though you report he's doing LEJOG rather than JOGLE?

If you click through to his web page it shows his real surname is Pearson.

I tried but my company's web filter blocked it, otherwise I might have added that snippet myself.
