CTC Cyclists' Special from York Station, 19 June

Event harks back to the 1950s cyclists' specials...

A CTC 'Cyclists' Special' will depart York Station on the Saturday of the York Cycle Show (19 June), at around 10am.

Twenty pre-booked places will be available on the train, which will go to Thirsk and Northallerton. Riders will then cycle back to York under their own steam (a suggested route is available). York is about 40 miles from Northallerton, and 30 miles from Thirsk.

The event, which will be filmed, will be reminiscent of the CTC 'Cyclists' Specials' which were run in the 1950s, a fantastic example of which can be seen in this 15-minute film from May 1955

Tickets cost £3 in advance: to book, email CTC Cycling Development Officer Martyn Bolt.
