A cyclist was pushed off their BMX by a Northampton man on Monday with the offender then riding off on the bike.

The Northampton Chronicle and Echo reports that the incident took place at around 8pm on Grafton Street. The victim was pushed off from behind with their attacker then riding off down Spencer Bridge Road.

The black BMX had bright green handle grips and no brake cable to the left brake. The offender is described as being white, about 30-years-old and 6ft with a slim build. He was wearing a red hooded top and a black coat.

Police have asked anyone who saw the incident or who has information about the stolen bike to call 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
