Cyclist proposes to boyfriend - with engraved bicycle bell

"Ride with me forever?" was the romantic message...

A man has proposed to his boyfriend in a rather unusual – and for cyclists, romantic – way by presenting him with a bicycle bell engraved with a very personal message.

Imgur user ladwholived posted a picture of the bell to the photo-sharing website under the heading, “I did the thing!”

The words engraved on it read: “Ride with me forever? KCK & RJD.”

In his post, he gave some background: “My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 5 years. We've travelled all over North America during those years, and explored many cities by bike.

“So, instead of going for a traditional engagement ring, I had this bike bell engraved and gave it a ‘ring’ when I proposed.”

Uploading a set of pictures of himself with his now fiancé, he added: We spent the whole day biking around and exploring the city we just moved to. It was the best day of my life.

“And yes, that's a tandem bike. We only had it for an hour. I'm just so excited about this! Thought I'd share.”

Hundreds of Imgur users congratulated the couple with one, Morgana Rue, saying: “You could not have chosen a more beautiful way to propose. So happy for you both. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your moment!”

Another, Mea Kitty, said: "That is so awesome and something you'll remember forever."

Don't forget that you too can stay awesome with the help of our Cyclists Stay Awesome bell, available from the road.cc shop.

Shouldn't the message say 'Ride me forever'?

It's not a Colnago ad.
