London urban cycle clothing brand looking for backers via Kickstarter

Twentyeightco looking to create clothing and accessories for the fashion-conscious urban cyclist

A brand looking to create clothing and accessories for the fashion-conscious urban cyclist is appealing for backers via Kickstarter. Daniel Prempeh is looking to raise £16,000 by January 23rd which would allow his firm, Twentyeightco, to start producing a small selection of his designs.

Prempeh describes his offering as being urban cycling apparel that is also suitable for general leisure. “The aim is that by constantly keeping that fashionable urban cyclist look, there is no change from Lycra to casual wear after cycling.”

For the last six months, he’s worked on a series of designs which together constitute Twentyeightco’s ‘standard collection’. This includes stretch denim jeans, slim-fitted T-shirts and a lightweight coat.

The jeans stretch by up to six per cent to provide comfort and greater freedom of movement. They also feature narrow legs, better suited for cycling. The T-shirts are made from bamboo viscose, which is said to reduce sweat odour and they are lower at the back for when you are on the bike. The coat is made from waterproof breathable coated microfibre and is lined with silk. Prempeh describes it as being warm, light and very flexible.

If funding reaches £25,000, a leather backpack will also go into production. Made from polished cow hide leather, it boasts a retro unisex design and is said to be big enough to accommodate a helmet and more.

Prempeh says that all of Twentyeightco’s products will be handmade in London. To back the project, visit their Kickstarter page.

Alex has written for more cricket publications than the rest of the road.cc team combined. Despite the apparent evidence of this picture, he doesn't especially like cake.

Some of his designs are briliant. His bag is marvellous, it's a busy market place but having talked with him via social networks he's worth backing.

would of thought this isn't a gap in the market,

since there is quite a few brands that do stylish clothes for wearing on/off the bike. don't get me wrong hope his dream does work, though the jacket in particular looks a touch plasticity, which would put me off.
