We have a winner for the Vulpine autumn clothing bundle worth over £500

You told us your favourite thing about autumn riding to win some top Vulpine Schwag from their men's or women's ranges ...

Right, we’ve waded through the 1220 comments you left about what you like most about autumn cycling which included having to read POEMS (note to self, never, ever, ever ask people to do that again) but the psychic trauma has been worth it. We have a winner… and because the standard of entries was so high a couple of bonus runners up too who will be getting some roadcc socks.

Our Vulpine Schwag Grab podium is filled by the speakers of two universal cycling truths and one rather personal truth.

Almost but not quite for robbiezhaorobbiezhao for masterful use of the sympathy card with “The cold rivals that of the heart of my wife” - until you realise that it’s not really that cold at this time of the year, even in East Anglia. (Maybe we should send her some socks too.)

Socks also for tells-it-like-it-is “I just love wearing tights” from wrevilo but somehow it lacks the poe… magic of our winner the tells it like it even more is:

“Shining torch through the fog/mist whilst making light saber noises. Obviously…” by Mattclimb

Yep, that's autumn!

Our winner and runners up have been informed - those who posted poems about nature’s paintbrush turning the trees the colours of their fave beige Vulpine shorts - your names are on a list. First offence, but don’t push it eh.

Thanks to Vulpine for a fab competition, thanks to all of you who entered, commiserations to the 1219 of you that didn’t win, but there WILL be another schwag grab along soon.

=====================================================================================

The whole caboodle is worth more than £500 (£502 to be precise) and includes Vulpine’s:

Original Rain Jacket

Cotton rain trousers

Long Sleeve Merino T-shirt/base layer

Padded Merino Boxer/Boyshorts

Storm Cap

Dogtooth Merino Silk Socks

We’ll pick the lucky winner next Monday, usual Schwag Grab rules apply.

You can find out more about Vulpine's autmn/winter range at www.vulpine.cc

Good luck!

The smell of fallen leaves is great, and the trails are almost empty.

Sometimes it stops raining and the wind will be at your back on a -1 percent sparkling road, and you think you are in the best form of your life and every extra mile of summer riding was worth it.

Sunrise breaking through the mist over the North East coast on my commute in and the blackness except for my lights and perhaps the moon and stars as I cross the fields on the way home.

The wind that blows me to work in the morning making me think I have magic legs before punishing me on the way back. It blows the smell from the curry house towards me as I get back into town making me hope neither of us can be bothered to cook.

The best part of cycling in the autumn is getting the hi-vis lights on and heading off-road in the early nights. The disc-breaks slamming in as you slide in the wet sludge that used to be a bridle path and the fact that at the end of the ride, you know it's been a good one as both you and the bike need a good hose down

It is my favorite time of year to ride. It is cool and crisp. No Spring bugs and the leaving are changing. Just beautiful!

The fragrant falling leaves hit the nostrils and my face. The crisp Autumn winds pushes me on with the summer's oppressive humidity just a recent memory. My wheels glide over the back streets and through time.

Blue skies, crisp morning air, road still glistening with damp - it's my favourite time of year to be out on the bike.

I see a lot of sunsets but autumn heralds beautiful sunrises. I ride slower but it means I enjoy the sunrise more

Now my posh bike is put away and the all weather hack is out I can go anywhere as I trek around on the clear dark evenings. Plus my winter road bike was my first great bike and it's good to get her out and show her that I still love her really (even if I do ponce about on a carbon monstrosity in summer)

Autumn weather always seems to exceed expectations. Spend the summer dreading it but the reality is much more akin to Keats "Ode to Autumn" - season of mist and mellow cyclists. And club runs all of a sudden include welcome coffee stops. Happy days!

Autumn brings the dark evenings, this means

1) I can play with my new moon lights. I love my toys!

2) I can switch from my road bike to my N+1 Hybrid for the more comfortable bouncy ride.

3) I can replace my heavenly uneven tanned legs with the old milk bottles whilst saving my fellow coffee drinkers from having to look at my unsightly padded bottom ....well for a few months at least.
