Videos: Route overviews of Richmond 2015 Road Worlds courses

Pro riders Ben King, Joe Dombrowski and Andrea Dvorak give their verdicts - those cobbled climbs look tough

Organisers of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, who last month announced route details, have released videos giving an overview of the time trial course and road circuit that will be used in September next year as the championships are held in the United States for only the second time.

One thing that already seems clear is that in the road race there’s going to be a hell of a fight to keep to the left of the climb of 23rd Street – on the right, and you’re off the smooth stuff and onto the cobbles. The twists and turns of the cobbled Libby Hill look like they could be the scene of some fireworks too.

In this video, Garmin-Sharp’s Ben King, Team Sky’s Joe Dombrowski, and Andrea Dvorak of Team TIBCO – all born or adopted Virginians – and Mayor of Richmond Dwight Jones share their thoughts on the circuit, which will be ridden 16 times in the elite men’s event and eight in the women’s.

Here are the route videos for the men’s elite time trial, the circuit that will be used for the women’s elite time trial, and the course that will feature in the team time trials for men’s and women’s trade teams that will open the championships.
