Giro de Trentino stage 3

Very unsure what to expect today.

Wasn't sure to go for points in the bank, expecting the overall positions to be little changed, or plump for a breakaway, compromised with a bit of both.

Choo Choo!

Ive played it safe, as there are not an awful lot of breakaway points. Only 3 scorers on each mountain (regardless of category) makes for not many points.

Kept my team very similar to yesterday but brought in 2 from the top 10 gc.

What a dilemma! For the first time I am leading a stage race and really want to make sure I get a top 10 badge - so what do I do today!?!?!?!? Go for guaranteed points or take a risk on high scorers for today!! Such tough decisions in life!!!

Break could stay away today maybe? Tough day to predict, i'm hoping for a sprint from a group of 50 or so as I have a couple that could do well there. Nothing would surprise me today though.

I've put in Suitsuo and Santambroglio. Nibali may attack on the downhill today, but anything could happen.

Aye, anything could happen, gone for a couple of the favourites who may get in a break but to be honest I've kept my team pretty much as I'd want it for tomorrow.

Just a word of warning ...
Lander was DNS yesterday and Kohler, McEvoy and Reguigui were all DNF but they're still in the rider list so you might want to avoid picking them.

Today's DNS's Viviani and Coledan.

Today's DNF's so far - Pozzovivo has crashed and quit. That'll upset a few, me included.

It'll expose Bouet a bit as well.

With Cataldo up the road(3'45" now)it takes the onus off of Wiggo and his teammates to organise any chase.....is this a new SKY tactic we see evolving?

It's about bloody time sky started putting people in breaks!!!

I think it's just a case of Sky not taking the race so seriously and allowing their riders to get out there. I expect to see more of the old Sky once we get to the Giro.

Is Wiggins riding Romandie or is this his last pre Giro race?

With Siutsou yesterday and Cataldo today looks like its fine tuning for Sky with the Giro in mind.

I was like a headless chicken last night choosing team, was very undecided. Sit tight with GC guys, or gamble on sprint/breakaway? I ended up gambling, and took 2 penalties. and will probably take penalties again tonight. it's sh*t or get off the pot time for my team. Gulp!

Nibali
Gatto
Santambrogio
Bouet
Duque
Rebellin
Siutsou
Felline
M Rod

Brought in Sir Wiggley-Wig-Wig, in the hope that he and Signor Nibbles will reprise yesterday's Thelma & Louise finish line routine.

Having a stinker with this competition. Roll on Romandie.

Current situation

Leaders: Tiralongo, Kangert, Santaromita, Sarmiento, Scarponi, Durasek, Sella, Piedra & Locatelli (no idea what's happened to Felline)

Chaser: Cataldo @ 2 min

Peloton @ 3 min

Wiggins was dropped due to a mechanical, no idea if he got back on, I assume he did as he's not being reported as being well behind.

Wiggins did get back on to the bunch. Felline and Cataldo were caught by the bunch at km120 - team orders?

Ouch!!!!
Just went safe and GC myself. Would have been a stage win if you hadn't changed anything.
