Coming soon: road.cc Best Components, Accessories & Clothing 2018/19 awards

Our awards season continues with the best cycling products we've tested in the past year, from gloves to groupsets, shoes to saddles...

We've tested a zillion* products on road.cc over the past year and now it's time to pick the very best of them.

We've already revealed our Bike of the Year 2018/19, and we ran the road.cc Tech Team's favourite cycling products of 2018 just after Christmas, where we each picked three products that stood out in the memory.

Now, though, it's time to take a systematic look at the outstanding components, accessories and clothing.

As with bikes, for a product to be considered we must have reviewed it on road.cc over the past 12 months.

We collate a table of all the products that scored highly in each category, then our team check through all the reviews again before discussing, debating and arguing about which ones should make our final list. Sometimes the selection is pretty straightforward, sometimes it isn't.

Products that make our final list have to be outstanding. They must have impressed us in terms of design, build quality, performance and, in some cases, innovation. If you’re in the market for a few extra special upgrades for you and your bike this year, check out our articles over the next three days:

• Wednesday, 23rd January: Best Cycling Clothing 2018/19
• Thursday, 24th January: Best Cycling Components 2018/19
• Friday, 25th January: Best Cycling Accessories 2018/19

The articles will link to our original reviews so you can get more information on the products that interest you. We're also including a buying link for each product, sometimes for prices lower than RRP. Much of last summer's clothing is still available, for example, now at discounted prices, so you might be able to bag yourself a bargain.

Stay tuned to road.cc over the rest of the week...

Clothing: My 3 year old Galibier Mistral bib tights are like new and still perform and endura's MT500 overshoes make ALL other overshoes redundant.

Shimano 105 Groupset.

Awards over, everyone go home.
