Why do you always moan?
My other half said to me today after getting back home "If you like cycling so much, why do you always moan when you get back home?"
After thinking about it for a while, I thought to myself, I have never moaned about cycling come wind, rain, sunshine or whatever. Then why would I? What I do moan about is:
Roads
The driver that insists on overtaking only to pull in or turn in front of you, or the driver that can see you approaching and still pulls out.
The state of the majority of roads around the area, potholes, cracks in the road (normally travelling in the same direction as you are going) and debris etc.
Shared paths
Using shared paths where pedestrians do whatever they feel like doing!
Dog owners letting their dogs run wherever they want, normally in front of you so that you need to come to a complete standstill so you don't run into the thing. Or on extendable leads, from one side of the path to the other.
Other cyclists approaching 2 or 3 abreast and expect you to move out of their way.
Other cyclist riding 2 or 3 abreast and won't pull in to let anyone past.
The fact that I can't speed along shared paths at 45mph with carbon fibre underpants on...
Other cyclists that don't have the decency to acknowledge your greeting, now that really winds me up. 
I'm sure that there are plenty of other things to add to the list but this is just for starters!

Same. I also have gone through a bunch of their tyres, and only the extralight disappointed (torn sidewall) but the standards are fantastic....

Indeed - but it's no more inconsistent than our current road design - very often UK high streets are "for shopping" and also a busy through route....

Shamefully I forwent the club run today. But then again, the sh!t that fell from the sky today, I can't say I felt too bad.
Bike maintenance in this sort of weather is a real concern actually. So a bit of turbo training and a sufferfest will ensue. Purgatory for the living.
It's been blowing a gale here today so I decided to leave the road bike in the garage and take out the new (to me) CX bike instead.
It made such a nice change not having to worry about traffic, the state of the roads etc. instead focussing on being polite/courteous to dog walkers and horse riders - most of whom were willing to share pleasantries. The wind had no effect, either.
Though I'll always be a roadie at heart, I think I'll be putting a fair few bad weather miles in off road.

Ha ha, very funny. There's no such thing as a shared path so I tend to avoid them. You have to accept they're just pedestrianised areas where you can lawfully ride very slowly whilst weaving in and out of pedestrians.
Potholes - report them if you're in the UK. I've found the website below useful and the local council surprising responsive whenever reported my local craters! http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/
What gets on my nerves? Wind. And maintenance. Two things I can seemingly do little about! Oh and bike noises.
