Supersix vs Evo

Has anyone here ridden both a Cannondale Supersix and a Supersix Evo? If so how different are they? Night and day? Or just a little bit here and there? And lastly, is the Evo worth upgrading to?

The frame and fork is the heart of the ride, the groupset makes little difference. The top Evo is one of the best frames made today, it is going to be a big step up.

Having owned a supersix and then swapping the frame out for an Evo Hi mod Ballistec I experienced a dramatic difference!

The two frames are totally different from the skinnier tubes of the Evo, the super skinny seat tube to the massively noticeable weight saving.

The bike felt a lot more agile and picked up speed a lot quicker.

I know Cannondale now make 101 different versions of the Evo but I cannot recommend the Hi Mod version enough!

Comparing a 105 supersix with tiagra wheels (I assume) and a compact chainset with an evo built up with sram red, fullsize crank and ksyrium equipe wheels (again, I assume) is comparing apples and oranges really.

The frame will obviously be a little lighter and a little stiffer, but the wheels and groupset will have more significant effect on the ride quality.

I ride a supersix apex myself, have done for a year. If you swapped all the components onto an evo I imagine I might feel the difference, but I doubt it would be night and day.

I own a SuperSix 105 and rode an Evo RED on C'dale Demo day at my LBS. HOLY GEEZ NIGHT AND DAY! Not only is it noticeably lighter, the RED group is a bit different as well. I run a compact crank and the demo EVO had a fullsize crank, so that made a big difference on my ability to average a higher speed. The EVO is "tossable", super agile. Hope that helps 16
