The Challenge
The challenge is to have a go at riding the route you have chosen to do in the time allowed* - there is a choice of distances: 125km (2529m climb), 76km (1405m) or 45km (739m). SPORTident timing will be used and you will need to punch at control points/feed stations to register that you have completed the fixed route in full. You will be provided with a basic colour copy route map at registration plus the route will be arrowed and there will be marshalled checkpoints en-route with food/drink (fruit, biscuits, energy gels, juice, water).
* There will be time cut off points on each route after which you will not be allowed to continue - these cut off times will be detailed well in advance of the event on our website plus details given at registration on the day of the event NB - the cut off times are generous!
We have avoided busy main roads wherever possible and have gone for quieter country roads the majority of which will showcase some of the best scenery and pass via some of the prettiest villages in the Peak District and Staffs Moorlands. Vehicle support will be provided in case of terminal breakdown etc (emergency numbers will be given out at the start of the event).
The ride will be run under the British Cycling Regulations for Non-Competitive Off Road and On Road Events.
