The Tour This far.

After waiting for weeks with tingly anticipation, I have to say that I have been a little underwhelmed by the racing so far..
I really thought that the Corsican terrain would have made interesting stages.. Why yesterday with a 25K TTT the next day to follow, did the teams with no real TTT ambitions not try to make the stage a little more animated...

And Eurosport really need a new commentary team.... Carlton Kirby is fast becoming the most repetitive man on the TV.... And as for Sean, well as inspirational on a bike as he was, the microphone is not for him.. Common sense dictates that a good percentage of their audience tune in every day, its getting a tad boring guys... I wish I had a pound for every time that Carlton has told me that Sean once won a cow..... and as often as he tells the story, he can never remember what he did with it...
Rant over....Will still be switching on today...

Unless there are Cat 1 or higher to be climbed, your TV should remain off until sprint o'clock.

FDJ initiated the big split on stage 2....Cofidis I think will wait till the mountains with Navarro and Taaramae and no more anonymous than SKY.....Euskaltel took polkas on stage 1......Sojasun got told off by 'Les Patrons' for trying to catch the break yesterday so not too bad.

Corsica had to be at the start to save on 2 transfer days and ITV coverage is actually really quite good even if a bit Brit/SKY biased.

The problem is that the Corsica stages would have fitted in perfectly during week 2 and onwards. At the mo though none of the big teams wants to risk to much and then be in a position to have to defend over what was quite lumpy terrain.

Your right about the smaller teams, i thought they would have pushed a bit harder but when you look at the breaks Sojasun, Greenedge, Vacansoleil and Europcar have all been heavily involved in the breaks so it hasn't been to bad.

But where the bloody hell are Cofidis?! Anonymous thus far.

The whole bus thing, while comical at the time, I think has really undermined these stages, not least by taking the wind out of the sprinters' sails (excepting Kittel). Cav & Greipel have barely been involved after the very first intermediate sprint. Also Sagan doesn't seem to be hitting the Tour at his peak. Still, I quite enjoyed the final 20k on stage two. And Corsica certainly looks nice.
