Question for tubs users

Do they generally lose air (between rides) quicker than clinchers?

It's only some more expensive tubs that have latex tubes.

Of course you can get the 'daily chore" with clinchers too cause you can use latex inner tubes eg Michelin Aircomp. You also get the the wonderfully supple ride - so long as you use decent tyres - and the puncture protection.

triathlon tubs generally have a butyl inner, if you want tubs that aren't going to go down. the trade off is they're not quite as supple

Most tubs have latex tubes inside, but not all of 'em. As for a few strokes with the tire pump being a prohibitively time consuming "daily chore", I think I have that much time to spare usually.

conti competitions don't deflate much at all, no different to clinchers.

@Bikeboy76, Don't think it applies to all tubs though? I heard that Vittoria worse than some others due to the latex inners..

I recall one recent discussion thread, I came to a different conclusion, bought tubs and haven't looked back!

Disclaimer: not had a puncture yet, so perhaps should reserve judgement!

I deflate mine after every ride to make sure they're still properly seated anyway.

Yes. Thinner, more porous latex inner.

Thanks, that puts my mind at rest.

Same brand too.

IME yes. Need to pump up daily. I use Vittorias which may be worse than others due to their latex inners.

This is the exact reason after a lot of discussion and advise on this board that I decided to stick to clinchers. The benefits just are not worth a daily chore.
