Chain dropping from big ring, help!

When I give it some full beans on the big ring the chain skips to the smaller front chain ring, anybody got any remedies?... 7

I had this problem, needed a new cable. I took mine in as I couldn't see the issue, was just a new inner needed

Check your front mech Limit Screws, specifically the one marked 'H'. If the mech cage can't shift enough from the frame it might be pulling the chain back towards the inner ring (hope that makes sense).

To check, put the chain on the large chainring and smallest sprocket. Pull the inner cable for the front mech by hand and you should have a small gap between the chain and outer cage so there's no rubbing. If you don't, loosen the H screw a quarter of a turn at a time.

Then go out and continue to give it the beans. 16

Can happen with a worn chain or gear ring.

Measure your chain for wear?

Ta, giving it a bit of thought I reckon it is when the chain is up the block a few gears. I just need to man up and leave it in the 53-11 all the time

You might just need to readjust your front mech. It will also help if your chain isn't crossing too far over on your cassette. Make sure you're in a good gear to start with!
