Selling advice please.

This is not an advert but I am after some feedback.

I have a Carrera TdF in size medium (about a 54cm I believe) in the garage. It's been passed from my father (he rode it a max of 5 times before saying he wished he'd bought an Allez so then did!), to my son.

My son rode it once round the block and said he was sticking to mtbing.

Then I swapped the saddle for a ladies one so my wife could come road riding. She never did!

So it's 2 years old, back to stock apart, but virtually unridden.

Would you sell locally? Or do I get a friend to just eBay it? (never had an eBay account myself)

How much do you reckon it's worth?

When is the best time to sell?

It's mint bar from a tiny mark on the bar tape (we got it reduced for this) and I think the front change could be smoother but maybe I'm just expecting too much with that.

I am not posting this anything other than advice right now. Usually mates buy my bikes (just sold a Kona mtb to one) but no-one is after a starter road bike.

Thanks guys and gals.

Thanks guys. I had a look on gumtree and they are nearly all the following years model. Same bike but different graphics. Plus the RRP went up, so going for around £240 ish.

I am going to ask around a few mates again first then do an. If I get £200 I will be happy.

they retail for £300 new - maybe £200? Might be asking a bit much, you'd get between £150-200

FleaBay is good for finding a rough value if nothing else—you can search completed listings.

Can you be bothered boxing and shipping? If not, then perhaps Gumtree may make more sense than eBay as it tends to be local.

It's getting warmer. Now's as good a time as any to sell.

Good luck!
