Tweet from Dave Millar:

"Dear Rabobank, you were part of the problem. How dare you walk away from your young clean guys who are part of the solution. Sickening."

And yes, perhaps Europcar or another team will be FORCED to become pro?

Or they'll let Ag2r stay with Argos.

Good, hope the riders still get paid etc.

What will the team be called?

Giant pro cycling squadron or something?

Dutch Fietsen?

Not as bad as I first thought it was.

Quote:

The professional teams will continue to exist in 2013, with Rabobank honouring contracts already in place, although the riders will have no sponsor's name on their jerseys.
The bank is also trying to find a solution to keep sponsoring Vos to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Rabobank also have a continental team, an U23 team, CX teams.......

Presumably this covers it:

Quote:

The Dutch bank said that it would continue to sponsor the amateur side of the sport, including cyclocross and youth cycling.

Pretty shocking news really.

Gotta remember and I haven't seen it on any of these stories.

Rabobank also have a continental team, an U23 team, CX teams.......

Big shake up going on, plus they were a bit like Sky are to British cycling, the main national sponsor aswell.

If this new investigation surrounding Ferrari takes off, I can see Pro cycling being dead in the water next season 20

We'll maybe get a Road.cc team in the TdF 19 19

I was gonna say, if new sponsors are signing up for the former rabo, Road.cc could put a bid in cheap 4

Nothing like a bit of Argyll in the WorldTour.

Crowd sourcing time? £100 from 500 people might get a half decent young team 19

But on a more serious note. This free's up another world tour license

The problem is more the structure of the sport, than some selfish individuals. Nothing will change unless and until there is significant reform, starting at the top.

Very true.

The sport is suffering and people are suffering - due to a selfish group who I still like to hope are a minority but have my doubts!

As I posted recently, I have waited for years to see cycling gain the recognition with family/friends/the public and just when it does, this happens.

I am sure the ripples will continue.

No worries 1

It's so sad that a large number of people are going to be out of work after this isn't it?

Shame really; but how many sponsors will follow them, in light of the dopping publicity?
