Some of the country's top professional and amateur riders will converge on Rutland on the 20th and 21st of April for two days of top quality cycling events.
Starting proceedings on Saturday 20th is the fifth edition of the Rutland CiCLE Tour. With three routes to choose from there is something for riders of all levels of fitness and experience. The shorter route is ideal for those new to cycling and cyclo-sportives, but still hard enough to provide a personal challenge.
For those who have literally been around the block a few times there is the 100 mile option, which features the most picturesque lanes and villages the area has to offer. Taking in not only Rutland but neighbouring Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, the route has almost 5000 feet of climbing and includes views of Rutland Water, the Vale of Belvoir, Belvoir Castle, Eyebrook Reservoir and the impressive Harringworth Viaduct.
