Kit in Italy

So we're looking at going to Sicily for a holiday next month. I can't help wondering if I might accidentally-on-purpose happen upon a bike shop(!) and if so, what would prices be like? Would Italian kit be any cheaper? Would a nice shiny pair of carbon-soled shoes tempt me?!

Ciao

Although I live in Rome, not in Sicily, on the whole in Italy bike shops viewed from a British viewpoint are likely to be a disappointment. They tend to be much smaller, and have much less stock on display.

Having said that you might just strike lucky, I'm sure a quick search will turn up some shops, and with the exchange rate in your favour a bargain might be had.

Happy holidays.

Ciao!

Maybe I can help.. Which part of Sicily will you be visiting? I'm located near Palermo. You can check out several bike trips in the area: http://on-sicily.com/GB/cycling-in-Sicily.html

Saluti dalla Sicilia,
