Issue with BB30 squirk sound

Hello,

I own a Boardman Team Carbon with FSA BB30 for a year now and i really love the bike. Knowing that there was an issue with the bottom brackets Boardman has been using in some of their models and after a post in FSA's site, I checked the serial of my bottom bracket and it was not among the disfunctional BBs. When i got the bike I went to my LBS to check it and I had the BB lubed since it came almost dry from Halfords. After that every 2-3 months I need to go back to my LBS to have the bottom bracket tightened, since it starts to make a continuous squick sound every time i turn the peddle.

My question is should I change the bottom bracket to some other compatible brand ? Is it normal to have the BB tightened every 2-3 months? What could go wrong? Is there a chance that it will damage the frame?

Thank you

This can be solved by fitting an adapter into the BB shell and replacing the BB itself and a matching crank. All depends on how much you value peace of mind.

I very much doubt the bike shop lubed your bottom bracket bearings either.

I would replace and go from there.

If the set-up is coming loose, something is amiss.

I've never had my BB tightened - regular adjustment like that isn't 'maintenance' IMHO

Have you tried contacting Boardman direct? (the company, not the legend - although...)
