Advice Needed

Having been riding for about a year on a Giant Defy 3 I am now planning on buying a carbon road bike. Budget is about £1,800.

I have narrowed it down to 2 contenders, those being;

Cube Agree GTC Race with the following;

Shimano Ultegra 6700 Press-fit BB group set
Easton EA50 Aero Custom wheels

And a Ribble Stealth with the following;

Full Campagnolo Athena 11 speed group set
Campagnolo Zonda wheels

Both have internal cable routing. The Cube uses HTII press fit BB, the Ribble is BB30.

Torn between the 2 at the moment although I am edging towards the Cube.

So my question to you all, wishing to draw on your experience is; am I making a good choice? Are there any other options I should be considering?

Thanks in advance.

David.

I may have found another contender in the Canyon Ultimate CF 8.0

Great review of the frame on here, plus I would have enough change left over to buy a road.cc jersey 3

Look at this frame, and compare with the stealth

That's right, they are exactly the same.

You know the stealth good because I'm just about to buy one. Why should that matter? Because I have spent the last 6 months obsessively trawling every catalogue, Internet website and bike shop that I can get my hands on, searching for the perfect beast.

My conclusions;
1).no other bike stands up to it in terms of performance to value ratio.

2). It looks Sweeeeeeeet

3). It's got BB30

4). Stiffness rating of 105. (Not quite sure what that means, but its way higher than any other frame at this price point)

5). You can customise on Ribble

6). Hi Mod carbon...

Thanks Guys.

The Cube is still edging it in my mind. I don't know why but I seem to feel a bit more confident buying from my LBS (which happens to stock Cube).

I ride a similar Cube, and it's a fantastic bike. There's not a lot to fault it. It feels lighting fast, while still being comfy and (I know I'm stirring a up hornets nest here) Shimano beats Campy every time. Never ridden SRAM so can't comment there.

bikeradar (sorry 13 ) did a test of the ribble...

They gave it 11 out of 10 on value, though they had Sram Red groupset on it..

The spec list made me feel a bit warm..

Hey Trikeman

Apologies for the delayed reply. It's a 53cm in Black/Blue. I'm looking for £2000 but willing to consider offers. Let me know if you are interested? I've posted pictures on my blog - sweatngears.wordpress.com - so let me know what you think.

Thanks
Craig

I'm not going to comment as every time I see any of these I totally turn into 'Ribble Whore'

Do the Stealth - go FULL Italian (it's a De Rosa in a Black Dress)

...Damn! I did it again

Hi Dave,
Have you considered a Basso Astra? I'm selling mine as I've had it a year and not ridden it much at all. Did 100km on it and that was it. Here's a pic of the bike: http://twitpic.com/89gtyx
Not sure what your size is, but is something worth a consideration?
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers
Craig
