Matthew Lloyd

What a disappointment in the TDU. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season.

Thanks Simon. Shows how important it is to ride at the front when the wind is up, and also to have a team around you. The more so when you are the lighter build type.

He was in the group of 30 or so chasing the escapees up first time round, but ended the race 31st overall, 2:35 behind Gerrans and Valverde.

According to the Lampre website, he'd had to chase back into the group on the first climb (helped by team mates) after wind caused a split in that group with the main contenders.

They went over the top together, but the wind caused another split on the way back down, and this time Lloyd couldn't get back on.

Yes. I thought I saw him at the top of old willunga hill the first time up (well a lampre jersey at least) but then he wasn't evident in the lead group between ascents. Does anyone know if something happened?
