Anyone got any comments on the Cannondale Carbon Synaspe

These are well priced in New Zealand at the moment, I am looking at Shimano 105 groupset (thats as good as I require). I like the look of the cannondale with a more upright rider position, it will suit my aging body and be better for long distance rides.

Well, I just bought an alloy Synapse with 105 and loving it. Had rode a lot of bikes before deciding on this one. One of my key requirements was similar to yours - more upright position for my broken back (though I also had a tighter budget constraint - about 1200 quid).

I assume the Carbon Synapse will only be better than this one. 2 upgrades that I remember off hand are the frame material (obviously) and the wheels.

If you're willing to spend that amount, I'd also suggest looking at specialized roubaix elite sl2 .. again, all carbon with 105 groupset and about 1600 quid.

Might also want to look at the supersix from cannondale if the geometry isn't too hard.

Hope some of this was helpful.

Cheers!

Around 1680 brit pounds ($3000 NZ) -any other bikes feel free to suggest as I am dealing with an independant dealer who can access many brands.
$3000 is around my budget limit.
