Where the hell?......
can i purchase a DECENT pair of road cycle shoes size 9 (42) for the budget price of around £60 if possible please - i use toe clips but am prepared to upgrade at a later date (when funds allow)

Yeah as above, get yourself over to wiggle, i've got SPD mountain pedals, but i have a pair of DHB road and DHB mountain shoes just because i find them comfy
Have you had a look at Wiggle? The DHB shoes are £50 and have had some pretty glowing reviews.
Otherwise keep your eye on the Evans and Cycle Surgery sales - I picked up a pair of Mavic Avenirs a few months back for around £70, they were my first set of clipless shoes and I'm pretty pleased with them so far...
Erm, 9 is 43...
