Riding the Lionheart Sportive...

Avatar

Sunday I rode the Endura Lionheart Sportive…the route was amazing, 100km of traffic free, picturesque Somerset lanes. Starting in front of Longleat House we rode around the Safari Park before heading out to Fresh Water lake and then onto Kingston Deverill for the 1st food station. The lumpy route continued through breathtaking scenery past the villages of Bruton and Stourton, before finishing again at Longleat.

Chapeau to Dave from www.road.cc for riding the course on his 2 speed Retro Raleigh. Read more @ /content/feature/33504-roar-endura-lionheart-ride-report, seeing him push his 2 gears up the climb to King Alfred’s Tower was impressive!

The weather was awesome and the organisation brilliant, many thanks to Rich and team from http://www.live2ride.co.uk/, for an amazing event and the unbelievable sticky cake I ate at feed station 2 in Brewham…I was flagging then!

Also many thanks to Simon Withers from Cycling Plus for towing me along for a few K before we hit the second food station.
