THANK YOU, Everyone !

Afternoon all.

Its almost the end of the year and while I have a couple of busy weeks planned, I thought I pop in here and thank everyone for all the support/advice you have given me this last year.

Be it the MILLIONS of MTB questions I asked before buying another Cube

or Help and advice after I was hit by that van in the summer

and thanks to everyone who sponsored me this year too, I'd love for you to do it again next year

But most of all, thanks for making me feel welcomed, cycling is always seen as elitest, done by "Those skinny guys on Carbon bikes" it wasnt easy to come here (and other forums) 2 years ago stating I used to weigh the best part of 40 stone, but not once was it an issue, everyone was supportive and , if you take a look at my weight now, I think you'd agree that at 6 foot 3" and 14 stone 8lbs, I have pretty muched achieved everything I could have ever asked for , when it comes to weight loss.

To the new year, there will be new challenges, but for now, I wanted to thank you all and share a E-Glass of wine.

Gaz

How about a post on here about the hardwear you used when you began this enlightening odyssey? I mean wheels and frames/components. What worked and lasted and what didnt?

Cheers

Good Point, Probs a bit too much detail to go into here, so will stick it on the blog over the next week or so and pop a link in here , it is something that gets asked quite a lot TBH.

Well done fella. Just been reading your website, am astounded and well impressed. Good luck to you and have a great Christmas.
Cycling gave me the incentive to give up smoking and it's now been 4 years. Did a couple of sportives this year and gonna go for a few more next year.
How do the ice tyres work? Not sure whether to make my own or buy some or just not bother and slide around a bit

Fact is Gaz you've done more to contradict that stereotype than anyone I've ever come across. Nobody can fault your commitment and the honest way you've documented your progress online. You've proved it can be done and it can be enjoyable and interesting. Your words and actions are what prompted the support and admiration, and will hopefully inspire others to do the same.

P.S. I've just seen the recent photos on your blog (http://theamazing39stonecyclist.wordpress.com/). Wouldn't have known it was the same bloke. Amazing!

Very kind words, thanks so much.

Let's hope I can take it to the next level and inspire a Nation to change ....Then a continent ? Who knows....

Dave...I'm looking forward to getting my Buff, Just 4 pounds to go ....It will make a nice Xmas Prezzie, Next time you challenge me, can you make sure the prize is a Madone or Super Six though please ? 4 4
