Website thought, about topics

I'm not sure if you put out a call for suggestions but since you don't appear to have yelled at anyone for making them can I join in...

Maybe it's just me but I find the comments on the site very scattered between News, Gear and Forums.

So there may be a piece of news which someone sees elsewhere and starts a discussion on the forum, but then it also gets picked up in your News section so people comment there and it ends up with two parallel conversations.

The downside being that if you don't know about the other discussion then it can be days between posts on a subject so it all looks a bit dead, whereas if they were together then it would look more active and I suspect be more active.

And it makes checking the site a bit of a trawl. Discussions about kit could be here or they could be in Gear and you can't always remember, or you miss things that you might have been interested in commenting on.

I don't know how to solve it and I really like being able to comment on the news and gear articles - I think it is a great feature. It's just how to combine it somehow.

If you're new please join in and if you have questions pop them below and the forum regulars will answer as best we can.

It isnt, but when people comment on their news stories it activates a forum thread.

(sorry that was the part I was trying to highlight 1 )

yes, take your point it's something we've talked about too. One solution might be that when people started commenting on a story it also started a thread in the forum too and comments on the story itself would appear in both places. That would at least make it less likely you'd get two conversations about the same thing going on at the same time. Just not sure if that's actually doable.
