Looking for an endurance road disc bike
Hello
I'm looking for an endurance road disc bike.
Today in my target :
- BMC Roadmachine 02
- Canyon Endurace CF SL or SLX
- Time Fluidity
What I'm looking for is a lively bike, responsive, light and comfortable.
Which one would you recommend and why?

I'd recommend a Trek Domane because they're very comfortable.
Oh and I've found Canyons customer service to be stellar without exception.
Another fan and owner of both the Ultimate and the Synapse (which I'm selling). Both are epic bikes. Set up with the same drop, reach, wheels and tyres they are surprisingly similar; both are great on rough roads and both perform fantastically. The Ultimate and Endurace are practically identical; zero between them for the same setup.
The 2017 Cannondale Synapse will be discounted now/soon as the 2018 models have been announced recently.
They are excellent, it's said.
I've a Rose Xeon CDX as well and am very happy with it, worth a look.
Edit: adding a picture cos (I think) it's a great looking bike as well...

In case I'm sounding like a bit of a Canyon fanboy...
The downside of Canyon is finding a bike to test and won't be able to get someone to help you buy the right bike.
The other thing I didn't mention about the Canyon; it'll come with a 52/36 chainset - I find this fine for my ultimate when smashing out faster rides, but for an endurance bike at slightly slower speeds, you might find that the 52 chainring is unnecessary and a 50 might work better.
Whereas, with the BMC, presumably you can go to Evans and test one yourself. I would hope that they'd also ensure you go the correct size and fitted you on the bike. You also have a shop to return to if anything falters. That said, I've found Evans' customer service to be lacking.

Thanks to all for your feedback, very interesting.
I just had he possibility to test the TIME Fluidity , classic brakes (not disc).
Mix feelings because the wheels on that bike are really bad (Mavic Ksyrium) and same for the tires, so the bike is not really reactive but the frame is really impressive in terms of comfort, especially the ACTIV fork.
Now I realize it is very expensive and not really a big step up VS my current bike (Ti + carbon fork) so I don't think this worth the price huge difference vs the other pretendants.
I have also tried a Giant TCR carbon disc, to me to far too much uncomfortable.
What I'm looking for a bike that would be more "racy" as mine (it's a Ti CX bike) but not too much "racy", to preserve the biker
So I think remains Canyon endurace (how comfy it is ?), BMC Roadmachine (would be a used bike to lower the price).
If any advice, more than welcome.

Can't comment on the Endurace comfort, but I've got the Ultimate CF CLS Disc 8.0, and I have the VCLS 2.0 on my commute/endurance/all road bike (Mango Point AR), so I might be of some help re:comfort.
I found my Ultimate to be much more comfortable than my Point AR (Ultimate has GP4000 II 25mm and my Point AR has GP 4 seasons 28mm), I guess this is in part down to the carbon soaking up the vibrations; it's a very very smooth ride and there's very little road buzz.
I have found that the geometry of the Ultimate can be setup to be super-racey, much more so than my previous alu road bike, however, after a bit of adjustment, the geometry is set for a good compromise of aero and comfort.
The integrated bars and stem could possibly present you with an issue if you want to really move the position about (I found it absolutely fine).
The VCLS 2.0 on my Point AR does an extremely good job of taking the "edge" of sharper bumps and eliminates a huge amount of the road "buzz". Going over speed rumble strips, I can barely feel the bumps - so it does work!
My Canyon does have a couple (very minor) niggles though, the bar tape isn't great and I found it was taped awkwardly around the hoods - I planned to put new bar tape on anyway. I'm also not a major fan of the Manganese rail versions of the Fizik saddles - so I changed that for the carbon one.
I also found that the integrated bars and stem are great for getting low out the wind, but the lack of good bar tape means my hands hurt after an hour of smashing it out on the drops (just replaced the bar tape with some nicer stuff + specialised bar phat).
The RS685 shifters do have a slightly different feel to the RS505's found on the BMC. I prefer the 685's and the shifting of the 685's is sharper.
I have a Cannondale Synapse Disc which is great and Evans are doing some good deals on them at the moment. It climbs well and is comfortable etc my only criticism is that it is a tad heavy and would love to the change the wheels to something more spritely but that is just being N+1.

Like a few of the above, haven't ridden any of the above (though I have a disc brake Canyon);
If it were my choice, I'd go for the Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 9.0 SL. Ultegra hydro groupset, DT Swiss DiCut, Canyons integrated aerocockpit and the VCLS 2.0 (I bought one of these for my commute bike and they really do work!), comes in at 7.6kg for only £2379 in the sale.
The BMC roadmachine 02 is £2499 at Evans, that comes with 105 hydro groupset, conventional bars, stem, seatpost and Novatec wheels - also weighs in at 8.7kg.
Haven't heard of the Time Fluidity.
In terms of purely spec and how much bike you get for your money, the Canyon would do it for me.
Don't be put off by the horror stories of Canyons delivery - I bought mine (albeit from stock) on a Sunday evening and it was on my doorstep the Friday after (4 and 1/2 working days!).
Does that not make the ride a little lumpy?

Apologies as I've not ridden any of these 3 bikes and so can't provide feedback on these specifically. Re: the bike you're looking for are you looking for are you considering carbon fibre only or a variety of frame materials?
Following on from SteeveB's message please feel free to ignore this but if you're not racing and you're open to considering a variety of frame materials if it is comfort that you're after why not consider steel or titanium?

Cant comment on your list, so feel free to ignore ...
But last year I spent a lot of time looking for a light endurance disc bike. In the end I went with a Rose Xeon CDX. Light and cheaper than many others. Been very happy with it.
I have an Endurace cf slx. Great bike, very comfy and very fast. Canyon had a killer deal on the di2 model recently. Watch the sizing though, I was a borderline L but went with a M and glad I did. Swapped out for a longer length stem on the cockpit.
BMC always seem over priced to me, although they are very nicely finished frames.
Cant comment on the Look, but again I think you pay a premium for the name
The issue with the Canyon and possibly the Time bikes is getting a test ride on one.
I am interested in the Time Fluidity rim brake version but not may dealers in the UK and all frames are hand made to order with very few demos knocking about.
Very few reviews to on the Time Fluidity but what you would get is a fairly exclusive bike !
All 3 will be good bikes - What groupset you thinking of ?

How about a Ridley Fenix Disc or X Night cross bike. The Fenix is a great ride IMHO, I have the rim version but find it a very responsive light and comfortable bike.
