Boardman 2011 Team vs 2014 Team Carbon

I have a 2011 Boardman Team, which has alloy frame, carbon forks and 105 groupset, bought through the Cycle to Work scheme. I use it for an 11 mile (mainly flat) commute and the occasional social ride in the hills. The Cycle to Work scheme is open again at work and I am trying to find out if the new £1000 Team Carbon will be a significant upgrade from my current model. I know it’s carbon frame, but some Tiagra components. I can’t find any comparisons, despite searching the net on a few occasions. Has anyone any experience of both?

The Tiagra components are shifters, front mech and cassette. The rear mech is 105. They also do a "special edition" one with SRAM Apex throughout, which may be better?

2014 Tiagra is unlikely to be markedly worse than 2011 105, and may even be better, depending on which components you're talking about.

It's very much a case of swings and roundabouts, you gain on the swing (2014 being carbon) but lose on the roundabout with the (IMO) lower spec components.
