Video: TdF Stage 5 preview over the Paris-Roubaix cobbles

A big day looming on Wednesday - GCN identify the key points on the stage

The Tour de France resumes tomorrow with what should be a sprinter-friendly stage from Le Touquet to Lille - but it's the following day that sees one of the most eagerly anticipated days of the entire three-week race, as the peloton tackles some of the sections of pavé used in the Paris-Roubaix Spring Classic.

The last time the Tour de France tackled these roads, in 2010, it was carnage. Overall hopeful Fränk Schleck crashed out, Lance Armstrong was among others to lose time as the peloton splintered, and the stage was won by Thor Hushovd with Geraint Thomas second.

Also in a select front group was Fabian Cancellara - now a three-time Paris-Roubaix champion - who took the race leader's yellow jersey in the Tour that day.

Similar drama is expected on Wednesday, and in this video the GCN team have a look at the stage in detail and identify the key points on the rout of the stage. And bad news for the peloton - at the moment, there's a fairly strong chance of rain on the route of the race from Ypres to Arenberg.

As the cliché goes, this early in the race, it's not a day that the yellow jersey will be won... but it's almost certainly one on which one of the overall contenders will lose it.

Great video from the GCN guys... the tracking shots show how hard the cobbles can be.

In fact, all their videos are consistently good.
