If you checked the results from yesterday, you could have seen the rider you were going to transfer in was not in the race.....

I stated yesterday that I still had to check the startlist.

I shall now pull out the disclaimer

"The allocation of points by the road.cc adjudicators will be deemed as final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the rider scores" http://fantasy.road.cc/howto

Because I cannot be bothered carrying on this conversation anymore

It should be safe to assume that a rider you put into your team after the first stage has been scored is actually racing. Not to see him removed from the roster 30+ hours after the first race deadline.

What you are saying is that for every transfer we do we should check it against the official startlist, no matter when that transfer is made.

This isn't a rider score either, so that disclaimer isn't valid.

I've written to Dave as clearly that isn't right.

Users of the game are responsible for ensuring that changes to their team are registered and no correspondence will be entered into concerning missed deadlines or transfers for any reason whatsoever. Farrelly Atkinson will take reasonable precautions to ensure that the game functions correctly at all times and is available at all times when competitions are in progress, but cannot be held responsible for any unavailability of the game or issues affecting game play.

I think that has it covered.....

No it doesn't Gkam.

There is a perfectly reasonable assumption for players of this game that those riders listed after a stage has been scored are actually racing.

Not if we cannot get the official startlist in time.....we cannot be around 24/7 to run the game. I did not have time to edit it yesterday, so I made the official startlist known....

It wasn't made known to me. And as far as I knew the players listed after stage 1 had been scored, were actually racing.

What you are stubbornly saying is that it is my responsibility to check riders that are listed even after a stage has been raced and scored, actually started the race. So, I therefore need to check every transfer I ever make from now on against the official startlist whether that be stage 20 of a 3 week Tour or whatever.

That still doesn't alter the fact that I put a rider in who wasn't racing as he was listed.

I should get a transfer back as the game was at fault for whatever reason. Players should not have to check that riders they put in for the next stage are actually racing once a stage has been scored, overnight withdrawals excepted.

It would be far easier to have a plan for instances like this instead of being stubborn for the sake of it.

Not that this effects my score in any way shape or form, but , if you are quoting the above then why didn't said company check the startlist was correct?

After all you have stated on more than one occasion that you are nothing to do with said company , you don't get paid and therefore do not work for said company just help out .

Gkam, are you saying that after the race has started, then we, as players, are expected to check that the riders in the game are correct?

Understandable before the race starts as we all know that teams swap and change, but several hours after a stage has been scored?????

So from now on I need to check whether the rider that is shown in the game is racing whether it is after stage 1, or after stage 5.

Right.

They only released the official startlist yesterday after the stage. I did not have time until today to update.

You could have checked the startlist yourself and we cannot be held responsibly for the changes you make.

Also....just because PCS have something, doesn't make it right, their site isn't official, it is just re-hashed from all over the web and I wouldn't trust it if my life was on the line. I personally never go near the site and would advise others not to trust it either.

There are official sites out there that you can use, Such as the races official site and Matsport

Also, what's happened with all the riders being swapped this afternoon? I put Guardini in last night using up a transfer, only to see that he has now been removed. I put him in once the first stage had finished, do I get my transfer back as it's fair to say that you expect the teams to be correct once the race has started? Or do we have to double check every rider we put in now?

I agree with what enrique says. It's madness that players can look at the scores in the points standings of a race and have the scoring on this game working in a completely different way.

It needs to be a lot clearer then Gkam. I'm not having a go at you but in all the games I've played so far this year, I have never seen that before even though I frequently look at the scoring information.

It seems very odd that the people who play don't know that the game is arbitrary, and that often the time spent looking on the official sites or PCS means nothing because the game is being scored in a different way.

NO, the points competition at TdS did not include the sprints points and never did.

This is why the sprints competition has been scored every time we have played TdS in the game.

With this category not being included this season, it has been pulled from the game.

Couldn;t agree more enrique.

The scoring information clearly stated leading the standings in the points competition 5-1 so that is what people have been basing rider decisions on.

There is also a points competition in the Tour de Suisse.

This is totally confusing and needs to be standardised. The points competition includes sprints and finishing positions and if there are no sprints then it should be finishing positions. Period. Then at least the people who play the game can make informed decisions.

This is crap!

I have sent out an email.

But just for you Enrique, here is my email to Dave, followed by his reply.

Quote:

Bloody Swiss....They are not having out a sprints jersey this year. The only points that are being given seem to be finish line.

So do I score the finish line points or scrap it altogether?

There don't seem to be any intermediate sprints on any of the stages....

just leave it out i reck

Thanks, G. Dave, can we be consistent and have a 'Points' Classification included in this race and have the points in the standings awarded? I hate the idea of having 'some' sort of 'Points' or 'Sprints' Classification in every race and having this one ignored for what I consider no 'real' reason of merit.

I think we should be consistent and include it, not arbitrarily remove it at will.

It's been a 'standard' sort of a thing to include it and I see no harm including it in the scoring.

I may be mistaken, but I'm of the opinion that most people would be more inclined to include it than to arbitrarily remove it, especially for such a big race as this one. I don't think it makes sense to set a precedent of removing it from this competition when we've become accustomed to playing with it all year long...

37 points and green arrows across the board 7 Does that make this race really easy or really hard? No idea what to do next 39

NO it says that the sprints jersey would be scored, not the points jersey. The points jersey was NEVER going to be scored in this tour and because there is no sprints jersey.

There will be no sprints points given out.

Not going to argue it any more. The points competition was never going to be scored, so will not be scored. There is no sprints competition, so unfortunately, that cannot be scored either

That is pretty stupid 39 ... Don't set a precedent of arbitrarily deciding just to not give out any points for a classification that appears on the race record books... Bend a little to commone sense, please... Does Dave agree with you? Or is this just your call as the competition manager?... 39 I can't imagine Dave agrees with you, but who knows? At least let us know you made this call by discussing it with Dave, even if you did, I'd still call for the 'Points' classification points to be awarded, but at least it wouldn't look like you're just stomping around making arbitrary decisions by yourself... 39 I can't recall any race we have had where we haven't issued out any points for the 'Points' or 'Sprint' Jersey classification... I couldn't agree with starting a precedent with this race... C'mon, give in... It makes sense... Why do you have to be so stubborn?... 45 Think about it, please... 39 Or at least let us know that it isn't one man's (your!) decision... Not that it would make it any more pallatable, but, crap, at least we could say it wasn't just Gkam being stubborn about things... 39

And where does it say it's being scored only on sprint points? This is ridiculous. Jersey points is what it says.

Avatar

If you read the stage info...you will see the points jersey was NEVER going to be scored.

Sprint points
6, 4, 2 points for the first three riders on any intermediate sprint
Sprints jersey
The sprints jersey competition overall will be scored as the points competition jersey.

The points weren't scored for stage 1 either

Points are awarded for the standings at the end of the stage. It says in the rules. Changing it now is totally wrong!!!!!!

Avatar

That's ridiculous. There is a points jersey so points should be awarded. There is no youth jersey so no points. You can't just remove things two stages in after people have picked teams

There is still a points competition which has been taken into account with transfers and team picks so far so it would be totally wrong to change this. And very unfair.

The only points competition that has been taken into account was the sprints competition.

There was going to be NO scoring for the points jersey anyway

Scores will be in at some point.

I have all the results, just in discussions with boss man about the points situation.

It seems the information that I used to format the scoring was based on last year. This year, they have pulled ALL the intermediate sprints and the sprints jersey.

The only points being handed out are for the first across the line. Which are never scored on a daily basis in any tour.

The profile suggested sprint or breakaway and that's what happened.
