new road bike

Evening all,
After some opinions!! I have a Cube hybrid which is great although quite a lump to drag around at times, i am thinking of getting a road bike but want one that is comfy as i don't flex as much as i used to, I have been looking at the Trek Domane 4.0 as i have max budget of £1500 i have read various reviews and they seem a good bike, so do you have any experience of them or anything from other brands that are as good. Also at 1500 it is entry level carbon do you its better to get an Aluminum frame with a better finishing kit or upgrade components on the carbon frame as they wear out, i will use it to commute on sometimes but mainly for longer rides at the weekend and possibly the London to Paris next year.
Thanks

Thanks for your thoughts, i think i will stay with the Trek as the LBS are dealers and a great bunch of guys although still salesman!! and they of course recommend the carbon frame, is it worth paying more and getting the carbon or is it more down to personal preference! 39

How about some steel? I have a Genesis Equilibrium 20 (£1300ish) and it genuinely has a 'springy' feel to it. Looks great as well and they have just introduced a disc version. All the LBS guys love steel and reckon it's the best material for bumpy British roads.
My wife has a Domane 2.1 and, after doing some testing, including a carbon Specialized, she said the seat damping system made a real difference.

I have a cube peloton race which is a couple of years old now and is still a great bike really well spec'd. Worth checking them out assuming you like the brand 3

for about 1500 you can get a pretty good specced cube bike? when recently purchasing my new one i looked at cube as they come with ultegra and a good frame for about 1500. worth a look!

I just finished riding 1000km on a Domane 4 series and it's a great frame. The finishing kit is good for the cost but (as always) it's an off-the-shelf bike that would benefit from a better wheel set.

Also worth taking a look at the Felt Z range of bikes and a few of the Cannondales.
