Converting Campag wheels to 11sp Shimano

I have three wheelsets that are currently campag 11sp. Ive recently installed Dura ace 9000 and the campag cassettes work 'okay' though I want to swap the cassettes for Shimano.

Two wheels are Zonda and Shamal, current versions. Are there are any issues swapping the 11sp campag free hub with an 11sp shimano one- i.e. wheels will need re-dishing?

The other wheel is a 2013 Reynolds Forty Six. Again will the 11sp shimano free hub go straight on without any need to re-dish?

The freehubs are on order so I'll soon find out I guess but in the meantime it would be good to know I won't need to return them! Cheers.

...and I should probably call out the campag wheels were 11 speed Campag before converting.

Well reporting back after finally receiving the freehub in the post. The campag one pulled off without issue and the shimano 11sp installed just as easily. All back on the bike and runs no problem. I think maybe the wheel is offset by .5mm but nothing you can see by eye, other than the brake callipers needing to be adjusted very very slightly.
Converting both the Zonda and Shamal wheels worked.

That's what I'm hoping though I think each of the cassettes sit on the freehub differently - i.e. Campag sits closer to the spokes. Therefore shimano lock ring could bind with frame. To be honest until I swap it over or someone definitively knows, I have no idea 7

My thoughts are that it should be a straight swap over as the cassette widths are now pretty much identical.

Interestingly, I have some 2014 Khamsin wheels with an 11speed freehub that I'd love to swap for Campagnolo... currently I'm running Centaur 10speed with a Sram 10speed cassette with an additional washer... which nearly works.

I've since found out that there is a conversion kit for the Reynolds wheels so a re-dish is not required on those- seems though theyre hard to come by at the mo.

I'm still not sure on the campag wheels though. I have heard before that 10sp Shim to Campag 11 would typically need a redish but struggling to find a definitive answer on Campag 11sp to Shimano 11sp. I should receive the Shimano freehub freehub today or tomorrow so I'll soon find out when I swap it over. I'll report back with the outcome.

I was interested in the same process as you, switching from Campag 11 speed to Ultegra 11 speed. HED told me it was not a simple case of swapping free hubs unfortunately, you would need a complete wheel rebuild to get this to run properly.

I believe that this is because whereas Campag 11 speed cassettes are the same width as 10 speed (but with narrower cogs) Shimano 11 speed uses the same width cogs on a wider cassette body. Hope I've got that the correct way around! This is why you can use a 10 speed shimano cassette on an 11 speed shimano freehub with a spacer.

So, I believe you are looking at re-dishing the wheels from what I have been told.
