not another which bike to buy thread...

Hey sorry this is another which bike to get post...

Currently i ride a scott speedster s20, All 105 with a set of ultegra wheels. Ive ridden it for about 5 years now and it has been a brilliant bike. I ride mostly sportives but i do want to have a go at racing this year.

My budget is around £1500 but i can squeeze a bit more if needed. I have been looking at a planet x pro carbon. But i am open to suggestions. Ideally i would like a carbon bike with ultegra, but i will drop back to 105 for the right bike.
If it helps I am currenty180lbs and i ride roughly around 120 miles a week...

Thanks

I'd look second hand. You could get something top end for your budget, I reckon.

There is a bewildering choice, with a number of new brands launched in the last few years. I wouldn't suggest any one model is 'best', they're all excellent.

These might help to begin with:

Online outfits like Ribble and Planet X have great offers but IMHO if you're not sure of what you want you should visit some shops to draw up a shortlist or eliminate models that don't really feel/look right.
