Zefal Profil Mini Trackpump RG01

Price:
£29.99

The Profil Mini Trackpump RG01 is small enough to carry on your bike and has enough punch to get your tyres back up to full pressure – rather than 'get me home' pressure – if you have to fix a flat.

I must say, though, that I think calling this a trackpump is pushing it. It's more of a frame-mounted pump with a stabilising foot.

Zefal Air Profil Micro pump

Price:
£19.99

In terms of size and weight (165mm long and 94g respectively), the Zefal Air Profil Micro is about as 'mini' as they come, disappearing easily into a rear pocket.

Attached to the bike via the provided water bottle mount, the Air Profil is unobtrusive.

The light overall weight belies the fact that the Air Profil is made from aluminium throughout, with the sole exception of a plastic flip-lock lever. The all metal construction promises good reliability and in the hands, feels reassuringly sturdy and well made.

Zefal FP50 Track Pump

Price:
£39.99

Zefal's FP50 Profil Max Track Pump is a tough piece of kit that's fast, effective and accurate.

Weighing 1775g, there's a distinctly old school flavour that runs much deeper than the tough red/black livery. It comprises a steel barrel and base, which don't make it light, but there's a dual compound composite handle and super smooth piston that's a joy to use.

Zefal Lock 'n' Roll skewers

Price:
£27.99

Zefal’s Lock n’ roll security skewers are something of a missed opportunity to produce an imaginative and inexpensive deterrent to opportunist thieves when locking in the street, outside the café’ and other situations where bikes are left unattended for shorter periods. Standard quick releases in my experience invite unwelcome attention from the light fingered who may snatch a skewer should the bike, wheels and seat post be locked to an immobile object.

Zefal Lapize pump

Price:
£12.99

Zefal’s Lapize classic pump ticks all the boxes for an authentic finishing touch to a concours period classic/restoration. Designed to fit neatly on a pump peg it sports mirror polished chrome barrel, black alloy handle and old- fashioned connecter with Presta/Schrader ends. Efficiency is pretty good up to 75psi, a consistent rhythm, 257 strokes and six minutes reaps a 90psi reward but if our test model is anything to go by you’d need hydraulic arms and plenty of patience to reach the magic tonne, much less the claimed 116psi.

Zefal HPX Light mini pump

Price:
£19.99

Zefal’s HPX light is a scaled down version of their legendary HPX and bridges the gap perfectly between frame-fit power and mini pump convenience. The polished alloy barrel not only looks great alongside a classic road/touring bike but also enjoys an edge in terms of rigidity over composite models and so long as you slipped a redundant inner tube “boot” over the exposed valve head it seems equally at home on the trail.
