Back on the road at long last...

Not even dense fog could stop me from getting a couple of days riding in during the Christmas to New Year lull.

Thanks to Green Wheel Cycles in Peterborough I was led'd up to the gills this morning to meet Steve, a fellow Yaxley Rider.

After toughing it out on the hills yesterday we were happy to keep away from traffic and hit the fenland droves.

It was a chilly morning and despite it not raining we were barely a mile down the road before we were soaking and I was suffering.

A missed opportunity!

I have been on an extended Christmas break from work (11th Dec '09 to 11th Jan '10), it was my intention to seize this opportunity and get some serious road riding in.

Having returned to Road cycling in June after 17 or so years of the bike I though this would be a perfect time to increase my fitness to the next level. But then the 'Big Freeze' set in!!

As the first week passed me by the icy conditions remained, at the start of week two I had had enough and invested in a Turbo Trainer and started getting the miles in.
