Fibrax Xtreme wet weather pads really bring budget stoppers up to scratch without running up an overdraft. They're not just for side-pulls or centre-pulls either – there's a version for V brakes. Folks with ceramic or carbon rims will need to look elsewhere though since they're only designed for conventional alloy rims.
You've probably never heard of Xtreme components. We hadn't, but they're being brought into this country by Rose Bikes. You've probably not heard of Rose Bikes either, have you? You would if you were German as they're absolutely massive over there selling bikes, clothing and parts by the wagen-load. So rather than being an unknown no-name from somewheresville, Xtreme have a confident provenance.
Xtreme's Air Jumper track pump is a well built budget offering that's easy to use and sturdy enough to stick around for a while. It's not quite as rounded as some of the more expensive offerings, but for less than £25, who cares?
The pump is mostly steel in construction, with a solid barrel and pressed steel foot that's hardy enough. The gauge is a good size and accurate when compared to our digital pressure meter, and the hose is nice and long with a smart head that'll adapt to Presta or Schraeder valves with no tinkering.
Here’s a nice-looking set of aero wheels. You can tell that’s what they are because it says ‘aero wheels’ in big letters on the rim. In much smaller letters it says ‘xtreme’ - the in-house brand of the large European on-line retailer Rose.
