winter training

It’s November, not March.

Doubt.  Self-doubt.  It’s horrible.

Turbo Training...

Hey,

I'm just starting to ramp up my training for the winter season, riding two training rides a week plus planning on from next week, 2 turbo sessions per week.

BreezeBlockers AeroBlade

Price:
£24.99

BreezeBlockers AeroBlades are handlebar-mounted shields to protect your hands from the chilling effect of the wind. Motorcyclists will be familiar with the concept, but they’ve seldom figured in the chilly weather plans of cyclists, especially road riders. Until now.

Winter Training!!

A missed opportunity!

I have been on an extended Christmas break from work (11th Dec '09 to 11th Jan '10), it was my intention to seize this opportunity and get some serious road riding in.

Having returned to Road cycling in June after 17 or so years of the bike I though this would be a perfect time to increase my fitness to the next level. But then the 'Big Freeze' set in!!

As the first week passed me by the icy conditions remained, at the start of week two I had had enough and invested in a Turbo Trainer and started getting the miles in.

Eureka! Riding clean on the wash cycle…

Could this be the future of the turbo trainer, the pedal-powered washing mahcine? Okay, Dave Askins invention doesn't do the whole wash using pedal power, the actual washing bit is done using a hand-washing contraption (think of that as a pre-ride upper body warm-up), although that doesn't take that long. The reall fun starts when it comes to the spin-cycle, then it's on yer bike.
